Find your ancestor in our Pedigree Database Index:
Each Pedigree Database Index document is a PDF file approximately 100-200 pages long. Using the buttons below, select the initial letter(s) of the desired surname to open the corresponding index. The document opens in a new browser window or tab (depending on your browser) where you can use the Adobe Acrobat Reader® "find feature" to help you search the index for a particular surname.
What should you do if your ancestor is in our Pedigree Database Index:
If you find a name in our Pedigree Database Index that you are interested in, and you are a PVF member, you can view the full Pedigree Database, managed with The Next Generation software, to see more information on that person or family. If you are not a PVF member, you can join our society to gain access to the Pedigree Database webpage.
How can you add your family into the Pedigree Database:
To add your family tree to our PVF Pedigree Database, please submit it to the Pommerscher Verein Freistadt either by
- printed pedigree and family group charts or
- GEDCOM file on a CD or by email
All descendants of Pomeranian ancestors are eligible to be added to our database.
Our database is published on this web site and is promoted at Pommerntag and Germanfest. It is also available for searches at the schoolhouse prior to our meetings and on Library Days. This is an excellent method of advertising surnames and can assist you in finding distant relatives and other branches of your family tree.
When submitting data, please advise us as to whether it is an original submission or an update. If you have any questions, please contact us via email.
