| The Freistadt Heritage Foundation is the non-profit parent organization that runs the Lindenwood Community Center. It also has a Facebook page. The center is run completely on donations, rent from its sister groups, and an annual benefit held in April. Lindenwood 4-H Club on FacebookThe oldest organization of the four which form the Freistadt Heritage Foundation at the Lindenwood Community Center has the youngest members. This group began in 1929 and still meets on the first Monday of the month. Freistadt Alte Kameraden Band Another member of the Freistadt Heritage Foundation and resident of the Lindenwood Community Center, this brass band has been making music at home and abroad since 1943. It has played for Presidents and on the National Mall. Pommersche Tanzdeel Freistadt and Pommersche Späldeel Another member of the Freistadt Heritage Foundation and resident of the Lindenwood Community Center, the Pommersche Tanzdeel Freistadt is an ethnic dance troop dedicated to promoting the folk dances from Pomerania. The troop is made up of four separate groups, from ages 4 - adult. The Spaldeel is a group of singers and musicians who specialize in Pomeranian folk music. Both groups perform at events throughout the year in Wisconsin, regionally, and beyond. Pommerntag on Facebook Pommerntag is the largest ethnic festival sponsored by Pommerscher Verein Freistadt. It is held annually the last Sunday in June. Other Places Nearby Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church & School of Freistadt Although not a member of the Lindenwood Community Center, this church, located less than one mile away, was founded by the first Pomeranians in Wisconsin - some of the "Old Lutherans" who fled Pomerania seeking religious freedom in 1839. The church holds several services each week. The child care center and school meet the needs of children from infancy - eighth grade. The grounds also host a 12-building historical site. Trinity-Freistadt Historical Site on Facebook Located less than one mile from the Lindenwood Community Center, the Trinity-Freistadt Historical Site contains 12 buildings open for tours from April - October, including a log cabin on the site of the first Lutheran Church in the state of Wisconsin. It is a separate entity, not part of the Freistadt Heritage Foundation group. |

The International German Genealogy Partnership is a group of partner societies interested in German Genealogy. Pommerscher Verein Freistadt is a member of International German Genealogy Partnership (IGGP). The IGGP facilitates German genealogy research globally as the internationally recognized federation of German genealogy organizations.
